Real-Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP)

The Real-Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) is a network control protocol designed for use in entertainment and communication systems to control streaming media servers. It is used to establish and control media sessions between endpoints. RTSP allows clients to remotely control a streaming media server, delivering data with live feeds, such as in video surveillance or webcasts. Unlike protocols that just deliver content, RTSP provides the ability to control playback, with functions like play, pause, and stop.
