Second-Level Domain (SLD)
In domain name system (DNS) hierarchy, a second-level domain (SLD) is the portion of the domain name that is located directly to the left of the top-level domain (TLD). For example, in 'example.com,' 'example' is the SLD and 'com' is the TLD. SLDs are important for branding and recognition in digital marketing, as they represent the unique part of the domain name that typically reflects a company's name or the nature of the website. They play a key role in creating a memorable and effective online presence.
